Introduction to the rich literary tradition of books for children, with wide reading and in-depth analysis to determine a criteria for excellence. Includes the study of illustrations, historical perspectives, multicultural influences, and current trends in picture books, traditional tales, realistic and historical fiction, and modern fantasy.
