The underlying geologic processes that cause natural hazards and disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami, floods, and landslides. How humans evaluate and confront the dangers posed by these natural processes. Monitoring, predicting, and mitigating natural hazards and impending disasters.
