HLTH 109 First Aid & Basic Life Support
Training and certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for adults, children, and infants including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), clearing of an airway, and rescue breathing. First Aid will focus on life threatening situations and conditions and includes, but is not limited to, control of bleeding, shock management, diabetic and environmental emergencies, and physical assessment of the victim.
