HUM 180 Intro Latinos In the U.S.

Introduction to the history, culture, and socio-economic development of Latino communities in the U.S. Specifically, the course will examine the communities of Cuban, Mexican, and Puerto Rican origin as well as post-1965 immigrant populations from various sending areas of the Americas. Through the study of history, current events and literature, students will be able to articulate the diversity within the largest ethnic group in the United States as well as the dominant themes that characterize the lives of U.S. Latinos.
