WELD 151 Carbon Steel Metallurgy
Study of metallurgical terms as applied to carbon steels. Study of the properties of metals, phase changes, melting and solidification rates, weld bead metallurgy, and heat affected zones. Course also includes alloying elements, their effects on weld material and the distortion of materials due to thermal conditions and its control. An introduction to flame straightening techniques completes the course.
