Veteran Resource Center
The Veteran Resource Center serves as a liaison between EvCC and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Everett Community College has been approved by the VA as meeting the Principles of Excellence. A representative is available to assist veterans and activate all veterans’ educational benefits.
A determination of eligibility by the VA and receipt of first month’s benefits can take four to six weeks, so students should apply well in advance of their anticipated start date if they are planning to use their benefits to pay for initial costs (e.g. tuition and books).
In order to maintain benefits, veteran students must keep staff apprised of enrollment plans each quarter and are required to follow VA regulations pertaining to standards of conduct and academic progress.
The Veteran Resource Center (VRC) also provides additional support services for student veterans, including access to the Veterans Club, VA Work-Study Program, lounge space, computers, and printing services. The VRC is located in Rainier Hall, Room 119, and serves as a dedicated space for veterans to connect, study, and receive assistance. More information about available resources can be found online at EverettCC.edu/Veterans. For questions or assistance, veterans can contact the VRC at 425-388-9277 or via email at veterans@everettcc.edu. Applications for VA benefits must be submitted through the VA website at VA.gov.
Many of EvCC's programs of study are jointly approved by the Washington State Achievement Council (WSAC) and the Workforce Training Coordinating Board for enrollment of persons eligible to receive educational benefits under Title 38 and Title 10 USC.
Veteran tuition waivers are available to those who qualify, ranging from 25 to 100%. A 25% tuition discount per term is available for active duty service members and veterans who are not using VA education benefits. Dependents and spouses of active duty service members may qualify for in-state tuition with proof of their sponsor’s active duty military orders. Additionally, the State Tuition Waiver covers 100% of tuition and fees for dependents and spouses if the sponsor is rated 100% disabled with multiple service-connected disabilities and is a Washington domiciliary IAW RCW 28B.15.621. For more information, contact the Veteran Resource Center at 425-388-9277 or visit the office during regular business hours.
