Accreditation

Everett Community College (EvCC) is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

Accreditation is the process by which colleges are evaluated against an established set of standards that assess an institution’s mission, effectiveness, student learning and achievement, governance, resources, and overall quality. According to the NWCCU, “Accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities means that a higher education institution’s own goals are soundly conceived, that its educational programs have been intelligently devised, that its purposes are being accomplished, and that the institution is so organized, staffed, and supported that it should continue to merit confidence.”

Aviation

EvCC’s aviation program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and operates under the regulations stated at 14 CFR Part 147.

College in the High School

EvCC’s College in the High School program is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).

Corporate & Continuing Education Center

The EvCC Corporate & Continuing Education Center is approved by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to offer academic clock hours and complies with the Continuing Education Program Approval Standards. Additionally, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available.

Cosmetology

EvCC’s cosmetology program is approved by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology and complies with the regulations established in Chapter 18.16 RCW.

Emergency Medical Services

Everett’s emergency medical services program is approved by the Washington State Department of Health.

Fire Science

EvCC’s fire science program is accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC).

Medical Assisting

EvCC’s medical assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). It’s one of the nation’s best based on the percentage of students who pass the national examination (about 83%).

Accreditation includes EvCC’s Associate in Technical Arts, Associate in Applied Science-Transfer and Certificate in Medical Assisting. Standard II.A of the 2022 CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines minimum expectations: “To prepare medical assistants who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.”

Medical Coding

EvCC’s medical coding program is approved by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Upon completion, students are eligible to take AHIMA’s Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam, providing them with a nationally-recognized standard of achievement in medical coding.
