WELD 218 Pressure and Process Pipe Welding
Welding techniques for pressure and process piping in accordance with industry codes and standards such as ASME B31.1 Power Piping, B31.3 Process Piping, and API 1104 Welding of Pipelines and Related Facilities. Layout, isometric drawings, joint designs, joint prep, fit up, tacking, welding, and inspection techniques for pipe welding with SMAW/GTAW processes. Students will demonstrate proper application of course topics through a project following welding requirements and meeting select code criteria for inspection.
Prerequisite
Completion of
WELD 193 Basic Pipe Welding, or
WELD 212 Pipefitting and Pipe Systems Fabrication, or instructor permission.
