CS 250 Database Systems

Introduction to the design, implementation, and use of database systems. Topics include relational models, schema design, normalization, SQL and advanced query techniques, transactions, indexing, relational algebra, and database connectivity from application software. Covers both relational and non-relational (NoSQL) database models, including differences in schema structure, scalability, and use cases. Introduces managed cloud database services and foundational data modeling concepts. Includes a team project requiring design and implementation of a functional database system.
