CS 290 Software Development I
Introduction to foundational tools and practices in software development. Topics include version control with Git, debugging strategies, testing, test-driven development, structured code organization, and collaborative workflows. Introduces generative AI coding assistants for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, and debugging, with emphasis on critical review of AI output and sound programming fundamentals.
Prerequisite
CS 233 or
CS 244 with a grade of C or higher or concurrent enrollment;
STEM 298 (2 units) with a grade or C or higher or concurrent enrollment in a project-based or interdisciplinary design course in CS, IT, or Engineering.
