Aviation Maintenance Certificate

Overview

Aviation Maintenance Technology Certificate (APTAMC45) Active: W 2023

To work as an aviation maintenance technician, students must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings. This certificate (license) is granted to students who complete the 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 147 program and pass the FAA written and practical & oral exams for each rating.

  • Courses may be subject to prerequisites.
  • Courses include FAA approved Part 147 curriculum and 15 units of general education courses.

Requirements

A&P License or Certificate - 60 units

Students with an A&P License or with an AMT Certificate with A&P Ratings (or Aviation Program Certificate) may be awarded sixty (60) units after completing 15 required units at EvCC

Core Requirements for Aviation Maintenance Technology Long-Term Certificates - 15 units

  • ENGL 98 or higher and MATH 86 or higher are prerequisites for the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) courses and should be taken first; with CMST& 210, you have a 15-unit quarter.
  • ENGL 98 and ENGL& 101 are offered in both non-diversity and diversity versions. Be sure to check the Class Schedule on the EvCC website to determine which section you wish to choose. If a course is a diversity class, this is displayed in the Course Attributes within section details.

EvCC Residency Units Requirement

To be eligible to earn a diploma at EvCC for any certificate, at least one-third of the units must be earned at Everett Community College and apply towards the certificate being earned. These units must be traditionally graded and calculated in the EvCC GPA.

Required Residency Units: 25 minimum

Additional Graduation Requirements

In addition to the applicable Diversity and Residency Units requirements, EvCC has other graduation requirements for all certificates and degrees, including which version of credential requirements should be met, a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, fulfillment of all obligations to the college (financial or otherwise), and filing of an application for graduation.
