Overview

Aviation Maintenance Technology ATA (APTATAPT) Active: W 2023

The Associate in Technical Arts (ATA) degree is awarded for completion of a program of study in technical education, the purpose of which is to prepare students for related employment with skills that meet the needs of the business community.

Note: To work as an aviation maintenance technician, students must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings. This certificate (license) is granted to students who complete the 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 147 program and pass the FAA written and practical & oral exams for each rating.

  • Courses may be subject to prerequisites.
  • This degree is designed for students with an interest in earning a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology.

Requirements

  • Courses included FAA approved Part 147 curriculum and 30 units of general education courses.
  • A minimum grade of 2.0 is required in all classes.

A&P License or Certificate

Students with an A&P License or with an AMT Certificate with A&P Ratings (or Aviation Program Certificate) may be awarded sixty (60) units after completing 30 required units at EvCC.

Diversity Course Requirement

Diversity courses focus on perspectives related to cultural diversity in our society, which is defined as including human differences in culture, race, ethnicity, age, sex, sexuality, gender, ability, class, socioeconomic status, language, and religion. Courses are listed in the Class Schedule with a Diversity Class Attribute. They are typically found in the areas of Communications, Humanities, Social Sciences and Transfer Electives. A Diversity course may count toward one of the Distributions listed above, as well as meeting the Diversity Course requirement. Please consult with your advisor.

Completing one diversity class with a grade of D or better is an EvCC institutional requirement and must be completed to receive any degree from Everett Community College.

EvCC Residency Units Requirement

To be eligible to earn a diploma at EvCC for any certificate, at least one-third of the units must be earned at Everett Community College and apply towards the credential being earned. These units must be traditionally graded and calculated in the EvCC GPA.

Additional Graduation Requirements

In addition to the applicable Diversity and Residency Units requirements, EvCC has other graduation requirements for all certificates and degrees, including which version of credential requirements should be met, a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, fulfillment of all obligations to the college (financial or otherwise), and filing of an application for graduation.   • Demonstrate safe work habits and behavior in aviation, reflecting concern, care, and pride in self, others, equipment, aircraft, and facilities.
  • Demonstrate and apply industry-required technical skills and data.
  • Demonstrate and apply appropriate industry required skills in attendance, character, teamwork, appearance, attitude, productivity, organizational skills, communication, cooperation, respect, and documentary discipline.
