Center for Disability Services

The Center for Disability Services (CDS) assists students with documented disabilities to establish and receive academic accommodations while attending Everett Community College. Accommodations may be approved for testing, classroom access such as lecture capture, physical campus access such as accessible classrooms, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, alternative formats texts (AFT), assistive technology (AT), and other disability-related accommodations as determined through an interactive process with the student. Accommodation(s) approved in higher education and the determination process is significantly different from the K-12 system. For more information, please visit EverettCC.edu/CDS.

Prospective students are urged to apply by filling out an online form available at EverettCC.edu/CDS. After filling out the form, submit it to the CDS office for review to decide on accommodations for the current or following quarter. We require supporting documentation. Information on needed documentation is available online at EverettCC.edu/CDS. Once the CDS office receives the application, a student is contacted within two business days to schedule either a virtual or in-person intake appointment. Students requesting or those approved accommodations such as AFT or ASL interpreters should submit their requests or applications early enough, at least six weeks before the start of classes, so that their intake appointment can be scheduled immediately. These accommodations require a long time to coordinate with external agencies to fulfill them.

Please contact CDS if you have any questions by visiting the CDS office located in Parks Student Union, Room 268 (across the hallway from the EvCC Bookstore), or call CDS staff at 425-388-9272 voice or for Deaf/HoH: VP at 425-320-4066. You may also email cds@everettcc.edu.
